How to Implement Your Own Acne Diet
An acne diet sounds like a wonderful idea. We’ve all heard that chocolate gives you pimples. Everybody has. So instead of causing a break out, you could prevent it by watching what you eat.
However, an acne diet can be a hard thing to develop. This is very personal and its based on your body’s unique response to certain foods. Your advancement will mostly be by trial and error and not all by guidelines. Monitor your skin closely. Keep a journal. You might even try taking pictures with your cameral a few times a week. At the time your skin clears stick the diet plan you were following.
The following guidelines can help get you started on an acne diet:
* You need to increase your protein - Some dermatologists believe that protein is correlated with cleared skin. The reason for this belief is because protein has an enzyme that will limit the production of oils. Oily skin seems to be extremely prone to breakouts.
* 2. Avoid carbohydrates - You don’t have to completely cut carbs out. But you should try to limit your intake so that they are about 40 percent of your diet. This is because there are compounds in carbohydrates that can stimulate oil production. This is why junk food has a reputation for causing acne. In reality, junk food is high in carbs.
* Consume green tea - Drinking the real stuff is the best. The best type of green tea is the kind that you brew. However, if you can’t stand the stuff, then natural green tea drinks will do. Green tea limits androgen production. Androgen is a hormone that will wreak havoc on your skin.
* Try to limit the amount of salt you intake - Most salt contains iodine. This is the reason why you hear table salt called “iodized salt.” Iodine is a major inflammatory agent in those with acne.
You must watch your diet and what you put on your face. If you currently have acne, you are more aware than most of what is contained in your beauty products. You should only use moisturizers without oil and natural and organic skin care products. These are least likely to cause a breakout. If you wear makeup you may want to consider switching over to mineral makeup. Many dermatologists believe that mineral makeup can actually alleviate acne problems and enhance the results of your acne diet.
